Hello, I have two ferrets 1 male and 1 female both were unwanted and from seperate places. I have had the female recently spayed she's roughly 10 or so months old. Originally the male ripped all her hair out of the back of her neck trying to mate no doubt. Having put them back together they still violently fight and squeal ...

Hi, please can anyone help, we have 2 hobs since they were about 9 weeks old and they are now about 9 months. They are lovely and great natured, however in the past month or so, 1 of them has become noticeably dominant towards the other and this causes some squealing etc, i thought they were just playing and still hope this is it, but just dont want the more submissive one to be 'bullied', any thoughts ?
Unfortunately I came across a post on a wildlife website with a photograph of a dead ferret that was found near Bristol. It looks like a silver possibly a hob. It is somewhat emaciated.

I can give the link to the website if anyone thinks it may be their lost pet, it is upsetting to see the photo but it could possibly be identified. Such a sad sight to see.

PM me if you think it could be yours and if you want me to I will give you the link.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news to someone.

i have been feeding my ferrets supreme science ferret food, it seens to have a good balance of protein & nutrients, it is available from most big pet retailers, hope this helps, i also feed them raw meat too, the dry food is great to use because it keeps down maggots, fly,s etc, but if the ferrets could talk, i know they would say they prefer meat and bone!

This morning I found a ferret under my car. Because I have a lunatic Jack Russell which would willingly fight to the death with it I have had to lock it in my kennell for its own safety. It is clearly a pet as it is so tame. It looks old( but I know nothing) white, grubby, has a little bald patch on his/ her neck. Responds to a squeak really well, but not eating the food I have purchased for it, proper ferret food as I searched the internet and read that dog food is no good for them. What else ...

I have 1 Hob and 5 Jill's. They live outside (well, in a shed rather than in the house). Each ferret lives in a coge approx 1meter square.

Doophus is 4years old. He's an Albino. From working stock.

He's losing weight, although he seems to be eating well.

He appears to be very lethargic.

His toilet seems to be normal.

He got cuts on his neck (from one of my jills being overly aggressive at mating). They were almost as if someone had taken a razor to his throat. These cuts have scabbed over ...

Last week Friday my male ferret (+-1yr old) had escaped from his cage and I found him about 50 metres from his cage lying prostrate. He was very weak. I rushed him to the vet (who is unfortunately not a ferret specialist) and he was immediately put on a drip and checked over. Xrays showed nothing broken and no internal injuries. He was semi-unconscious. The vet couldn't at first find any marks on him at all. Only two ...

Recently I took the advice from members and picked up two rescued ferrets from Wullie at Bathgate Ferret Rescue. Just thought I'd drop a line to highlight the service he provides and the fact that he'll aslo look after your ferrets for a small fee while your away on your hols.

He is a good guy who is only too happy to spend time with you and your kids to make sure you get the right fuzzy.
