Ferret Friendly Vets
I know they are listed - but I'm going to make a quick plug for Great Western Referrals in Swindon, particularly for Dr. Neil Forbes the exotics specialist there. We recently had to bring in our fur-baby, Kyoko, for pancreatic surgery. Unfortunately as fate would have it, things didn't go well, but despite the tragic outcome for our family, GWR was fantastic. Their 24-hr care readily accepted our ferret at 10 pm when she was showing signs of distress after being discharged. They called us throughout the night (12pm/3am) to give us updates on Kyoko's surgery and general progress. We truly appreciated their professionalism and care - to both Kyoko and us!
It's not often that one can lose a fur-baby and come out the other side saying great things about your vet - but we can. I thought this might be helpful for other who, like us, struggled to find a good ferret vet (it was particularly difficult for us as we just moved to the UK from the US 1 year ago). We hope this helps.

il second that one. always very helpfull and genuine passion for the animals in there care. big plug especially for gemma and dan for the many times they have listened to my ferret hypochondria and assured me all is well (full credit to dan for remaining streight faced when bitten by a hyperactive spike during microchipping). cant reccomened enough.
